The marriage record for Harve and Mary listed him as Jas. H.
Winesett, widowed, and his birth year as 1858 in Scott, Va.
Family legend is that Harve was an architect. It is reputed
but not verified that a building in Bluefield, or the
county courthouse for Mercer County, WV has his name on a
plaque. Nothing more is known at this time.
Nothing is currently known about Orgar at this time. It is
not known whether Harvey and Orgar had any children. It is
said that some called her "Organ".
Nothing is known about Cogan V. listed as Harvey's spouse on the 1880
census. Nathan Easterly was staying in the same household at the time.
The same census gave Harvey the middle initial "G". Knowing that some called Orgar "Organ" whether the census taker got it completely wrong.
Nothing is currently known about Ellie. It is not known
whether Harvey and Ellie had any children.
Harvey and Ellie lived in Tazewell, VA. They raised a child
named Nancy. She may have been a foster child or their child.
The marriage record merely gives her status as "single".
Nancy married but she and her husband
lived with Harvey and took care of him after Ellie's death.
There is a Mary Ellen Winsett (25-May-1863 to 6-Jun-1933)
buried in Maplewood Cemetery, North Tazewell, VA. I believe she
is our Ellie. There are no other Winsett/Winesett grave
markers there.
The Hawkins County TN 1860 census includes Noah and
Darthula and children but does not list Harvey with
the family. Why?
Any information about the members of this family
would be appreciated.
